How Steam Cleaning Cope With Covid-19?

Cleaning has lots of sub-methods and each method has it’s own ingredients and ways to do. Since the cleaning became more and more important in these days, people started to think that using more chemicals/detergents during cleaning can be better solution for fighting against Covid-19.

For particular ratio of usage, using chemical/detergent with cleaning can be solution but if overlimit of chemical usage happens, there can be other health problems which are triggered by chemicals. And on the long term,̊̊these chemical base problems are more difficult to be solved comparing to diseases which are caused by viruses, bacterias etc.

At this point, organic cleaning solutions come to minds in order to prevent chemical base problems and for also supplying sanitation and disinfection. The major way of supplying organic cleaning can be considered as high pressure steam cleaning.

As the base logic, high pressured steam cleaner converts refined water to the high temperatured and pressured dry steam -which is around 175 ̊ degrees in the boiler and 120̊ degrees on the top of nozzle- and this dry steam is being generated completely in organic ways.

Thanks to high temperature of dry steam, when steam touches the surface that needs to be sanitized, any virus, bacteria and various harmful microorganisms can’t resist to such hot temperature. Secondly, high pressure has also important meaning on steam cleaning. When the boiler creates high pressure (mainly over than 8 bars) steam gains ionizing fetaure and then ionized steam starts to break the bonds between the surface and the virüs. And this helps the temperature of steam to kill the virus, bacteria etc.

Of course, proper usage of steam cleaning is the key to kill germs, viruses etc. When the steam is applied to hard surface which has resistance to such cleaning (bathroom, kitchen etc) it is recommended to use steam very close to surface in order to kill germs and viruses (around 5 cm).

Because if the distance between nozzle and surface is lower than 6 cm the temperature doesn’t come lower than 100̊ degrees and for sure this kind of temperature can kill the virus effectively. If needed, the distance between nozzle and surface can be increased up to 10 cm for soft surfaces such as parquet and upholstery, but still the temperature of steam will remain over than 92̊ degrees which is enough to kill the germs and viruses.

Lots of health, public and business authorities (CDC-US, Department of Health and Social Care-UK, IATA) suggest steam cleaning usage in order to fight against viruses and to supply effective disinfection.
